Spring Cleaning

April 16, 2009 – Day 106

Another sure sign of spring – today our streets were cleaned! Two of these big machines zipped up and down our cul de sac and had the road cleaned in a matter of minutes.

    Go figure eh Jewel, when we had all that snow there wasn't a plow anywhere in sight, now that it's all gone I'm guessing that the city must have had a suplus from the snow removal budget, none of the side streets I traveled on this past winter were cleared of snow. I'm guessing that they are like government agencies, ALL of the money has to be spent in order to justify a budget equivalent to this years hence the street cleaners. When I seen them go by here yesterday I got to thinking, what is the purpose of street cleaners? As I watched dust clouds fly and once the sweepers were gone most of the same dust settled right back on the streets. They street cleaners did manage to make a mess of vehicles that were parked on this sides of the road... other than that what is their purpose?

    And how does the city justify sending out TWO street cleaners for one street? Hmmm ?

    Woo hoo! Ours should be coming next week, there is a sign coming into the neighborhood telling people to keep vehicles off the street.
