May 3, 2009 – Day 123
These are the brand new shoots of one of my clematis plants! This will be their third summer. I didn’t think to cut down the dead branches from last year before I took the picture, but I did that this afternoon.

We got some perennials put in last year. This is our first spring with them and we don't really know what to do! Do you have to cut off all the old dead branches/leaves from them?
ReplyDeleteShayne, what types of perenials are you talking about? There are some that you can just leave, whereas others you do have to trim and cut away dead branches.
ReplyDeleteJewel, that's so exciting to see your new plants, well old new plants, already peeking out!
Yes it is exciting to see anything on the ground that is not white!
