Even though it was -25C this morning, it became necessary to go out and get a few groceries (I went down to a part-time work week 16 months ago and LOVE having Mondays and Fridays off). This was my first trip to the grocery store in the new year. I snapped this picture of my cart before I headed to the checkout counter, probably the first time I've ever taken pictures in a grocery store. It was fun! :-)

I love looking into other peoples shopping carts! Here in the US it is against the law, or at least store laws, to take photos inside. I bought a new camera in a mall camera store once and was sitting in my car afterwards just looking through the lense, with no film in the camera, and the mall police drove up and told me to put it away. And I was on the outside of the mall!
ReplyDeleteThat looks exactly like I'd imagine an Auntie Julie shopping cart would look like! Nice and organized like your pantry. Do you normally organize your cart like that as you go along or did pay more attention to it than normal for the picture? ;)
ReplyDeleteWell Shayne, you can fit more in a cart if it's neat so my cart is usually neat. Sometimes I "throw" things in my cart if I'm not getting too much but yesterday, even though there wasn't much to get, I knew there was a picture to be taken. :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha did anyone notice you taking the picture of your shopping cart? That would've be funny to watch someone do =)
ReplyDeleteJust happened on to your blog here, saw the photo of the shopping cart... reminds me of a whole series of photos I did in a big grocery here ( a Price Chopper, as they're called)... I was doing research for a large oil painting, particularly of the checkout lines. The management told me I could not take any more pictures but let me keep the ones I had taken. I went back late at night, when no one was really shopping and a bunch of stoned kids were basically running the place- thats when I was able to get the good shots, and nobody cared. I think we should all have the right to photo our shopping carts, and am glad that you did yours;) Its really interesting now, cause you can use cameras that are tiny and concealed, like a cell phones, so nobody even knows...
