June 17, 2009 – Day 168There aren’t too many of these old grates on the sidewalks downtown, but there are a few - and I hate stepping on them as I’m walking by. I have a fear that one of the grates will break under my feet and I’ll fall into the dark, bottomless pit below! So, I almost always walk on either side of the grates or on the strip of cement between them. Once in a while, when I’m feeling brave, I’ll step on the grate as I go by. :-)
LOL so I'm not the only one that thinks weird thoughts when walking over these STUPID grates! And how in the heck did you get a shot of this with nobody around? I hope you're not walking down some old beaten path looking for things to take photos of! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have been in some scary areas on my lunchtime walks but this isn't one of them. This is right on 101st St and just off Jasper Ave. It was my morning break and most people were at work. There were still people walking up and down the sidewalk but I just stood there and waited until nobody was in view (a little tricky but I got the shot I wanted).
ReplyDeleteI love this 365 project, we really get to know alot about each other! Funny thing is Shayne was just teasing me about this last weekend when we were downtown! I am petrified to step on these grates! Awesome idea for a photo.
